My most favorite road trip takes me back to the late 1980’s. We were coming home to Michigan from spending the summer with my bio dad in Rainesville, AL. It is usually a two day drive and we stay at a motel with a pool. We never had a pool so staying places that had one was a treat! As we prepared for day two I noticed we hit Ohio very early. Having been used to seeing Cedar Point and King’s Island signs in the area all my life I was used to never stopping. Little did I know this trip would be different.

We saw the sign for King’s Island in Cincinnati and to the shock of me and my two brother’s eyes, our car entered the park! Our parents had surprised us with a trip to the amusement park. We had so much fun and stayed all day until they closed. That park has fond memories for me because it was the first time I rode on coasters that went upside down and it also began my absolute love for coasters. If there were jobs for coaster bloggers I would seriously sign up!

So as you can see, I had a very cool road trip way back in 1987! I have taken many trips since then, even as a passenger in a semi-truck when my husband used to drive, but nothing ever will hold a candle to that surprise amusement park trip!

What is your #1 favorite road trip?

My favorite road trip was a couple of years after I was married. My husband and I went to Red River, New Mexico with our two year old son. We stayed above a little cafe and rode horses
