Geek is so CHIC – Best Buy Geek Squad Tech Support #GeekSquad

Best Buy Geek Squad

Being the tech junkie that I am it should not surprise you that I get service plans and tech support from Best Buy. One major reason is because we are on a fixed budget while I am in college, we can’t afford to buy new things like new Laptops every 2 years or iPads. I love tech, but it doesn’t love my wallet. I was recently asked to join some bloggers in testing out the Best Buy Geek Squad Tech Support service that the famous geek squad gives. Little did they know how much work i’d be sending their way.

As sure as I am typing this, I kid you not, my main computer, the powerhouse I use for major photo edits, stopped working. I seriously could not have got the invitation at a better time. I took my machine into the Saginaw St. Best Buy in Lansing,  MI in November, right before Thanksgiving. There was an issue with the service I was provided as part of my review. I was told to pop back in that next Monday and they will have it sorted out. And they did! I was in and out that time and after they asked what was going on etc. they checked my machine in and sent me on my way.

My computer was custom built and since my hubby was the one that had it made I had no idea the computer needed a key to open the main boards. Best Buy called me no less than 4 times over the next day to give me updates, and to let me know that my video card had blown capacitors! I told them I wanted a new one and also to double the ram. They quoted me a price and I got VERY lucky because they quoted me on Black Friday so I got my new video card, a high end card, for more than half off! The parts and labor were covered with my service I just had to buy the card and ram, but the install was free.

I know that they fix all kinds of things but they knew my computer was extremely custom, no real brand, but they still took good care of my machine and called me to update until I had it back in my hands. The great thing about the Best Buy Geek Squad Tech Support service is that it covers up to 3 devices, even if you didn’t buy it from Best Buy! Like I said earlier, with my computer dying, it was the PERFECT solution.

Stay with me as I explore the service more and tell you more about the features I have been able to use. I can say that so far I am thrilled because I have my awesome computer back so finishing my semester was easier and faster with online stuff and really fast for photo edits so far 😀

The reviewer has been compensated in the form of a Best Buy Gift Card and/or received the product/service at a reduced price or for free
