A Skype Filled Shopping Trip

As you know I have been using Skype for a couple months. While I don’t have a webcam and never got to use video chat, I was still able to make phone calls on my smart phone with Skype and use that camera for the first ever video call with my family as I was shopping and needed to call home. So I had my husband grab all the kids and use HIS computer so they could “talk” to me, by video! They thought it was the neatest thing!

I can say I will definitely be using Skype when I go to Brandcation in October, to call home and check in with my family. I know I can always call or text but my little dude will love it so much more if he can SEE me!

I think I will also try and get my mom hooked up with Skype so that I can video call her once a week. I think its neat how times have changed and we can video call our loved ones now! It is really nice to be able to keep in touch that way over the summer as everyone travels. Speaking of summer travels, her is some information and poll results on how much moms use   technology to keep in touch while traveling!

I cannot wait to try and use a group chat function to call home from Brandcation, as my best friends and bloggers will be there with me! I think if Skype marketed a branded camera phone setup, that the service might just be used more widely. Sure most people have webcams but for those of us that do not, it would be nice to have something specifically for Skype. I have enjoyed using it, testing it, and telling people about Skype! :)

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Skype. I received Skype credits to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for participating.
