Apple Walnut Puree- A delicious holiday treat

• 2 Apples, cored & peeled (Pink Lady, Fuji or Gala are all good choices)
• 1/4 Cup Walnuts, shelled & halved
• 1/8 Tsp Cinnamon

1. Place apples and walnuts in the Turbo Steamer.
2. Cook until apples are fork tender.
3. Place apples, walnuts, cinnamon and 3 tbsp of the water to The Baby Bullet   and puree until smooth.
4. Cool and serve.

One Pot Christmas Dinner- Feast for your little king

8 months+

• 1 cup of cubed Turkey – uncooked
  (using cooked is fine as well)
• 1/2 cup peeled and cubed winter squash
• 1/2 cup peeled and cubed white potato
• 1/2 cup peeled and cubed sweet potato
• 1/2 cup peas or green beans
• 1 small handful of fresh or frozen cranberries

Directions:

1. Combine all ingredients in a medium sized sauce pan
2. Add 2 cups of water
3. Bring to a gentle boil and then turn heat to low
4. Simmer on low for 20 minutes or until turkey is no longer pink and veggies may be easily pierced with a fork.
5. Transfer the cooked One Pot Christmas Dinner to the Baby Bullet and puree until you achieve the desired consistency.
6. Viola!

Yummy Sweet Potato Pie- Delicious and nutritious

• 2 ounces of sweet potato cubed.
• 4 tbsp oat meal or rice cereal
• 2 tbsp water
• Yogurt (optional)

Directions:

1. Steam sweet potato in the Turbo Steamer.
2. Combine oat meal or rice cereal and water in the  Baby Bullet and Puree until you achieve your desired consistency.
3. Mix in yogurt for babies over 8 months.
4. Enjoy!

This tree was so sad looking. I mean BLUE garland? Its all we had at the time. Should have left it off I suppose. But the worst was having to HANG it. That was the end for me.

This year I HAD to find anew tree. I knew I could go to a local superstore and grab one but I wanted to get one from Hayneedle. I was on their site for hours last year looking at Christmas trees. I dreamed of having one, didn’t have to be 7 feet tall but I wanted a pretty one and prelit, to save me a step. I’ve worked with Hayneedle many times and they are such a great company and were very excited to have me review a tree for them to kick off the big Holiday sales month. I decided on the Glittery Pine Full Pre-lit Christmas Tree, and I got it at 6.5 feet. Turned out to be a good call because my ceiling wouldn’t have fit the 7 foot tree! I purchased my decorations but Hayneedle has some decorations, such as a lighted artificial pine garland and I think I want to buy it to go on the curtain rod behind my tree!

My tree arrived in a giant box! I gathered my stuff and the tree and got ready to go!

The tree was in 4 pieces, the base, the bottom part, the middle, and the top. You read that right, 4 pieces, and NO branches to insert! The branches came with a loop so that they fold up and when you let it unfold they fall into place but don’t fall out of place. Instead of an L shape usually on artificial trees these branches have a loop at the end, which means they stay on, which also means you only have to unfold the sections. I LOVE IT FOR THAT! The reason for this is because the tree is prelit and if you took branches out you would have to take lights off. I also love that there was clear bright instructions on where to plug it in.

There were two areas to plug in and then the angel was plugged into the top section. between being prelit and also not having to put each branch in, it took only 4 minutes to have this tree up. Of course it took more time to fluff the branches and straighten and adjust the eye hooks at the base that hold it up. It was all easy and I am so thankful for that!

Time to plug it in!

Looking good! You can see the pine cones and glitter “snow” dusting in the picture. I chose the tree for this because I am a sucker for glitter but also due to the crappy appearance of the boring green branches on last years tree. I wanted texture.

Then it was time to decorate and myself and my daughter did it all. It was nice because it reminded me that is was always me and my mother who decorated for Christmas when I was a kid and teenager. I love decorating for the Holidays so continuing the tradition with my daughter is something I am fond of. The tree turned out, in a word, Exquisite. I can remember only one other year it was comparable to how pretty this one is. I’d had the purple ornaments but everything else was new and gold. I bought clip on purple leaf clusters to go on the top at the feet of the Angel. The ribbon I wasn’t sure of in the store but I LOVE it.

In celebration the Blu-ray release of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, the wonderful folks at Disney asked me to throw a pirate themed Halloween party and watch the movie so I happily obliged. They sent everything for the party right down to cups and plates!

We decorated the room, and the girls and my toddler decorated treasure chests with markers and jewels

And then it was time to get settled and begin the movie! Of course the kids had to make a silly pirate ARGGG face for the photo! The movie was good, I love watching Jack Sparrow and his crazy antics! While I feel its not the same without Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley, I still found the movie to be very entertaining. I loved the mermaids that was awesome!

The folks at Coca-Cola wanted me to have a fun family game night so they sent me a box filled with games and even a coupon for some free Coke! The best part of these eggs?
They are each stamped with the pink ribbon logo! Being a fan of pink and a breast cancer research support I love these beautiful eggs! I’ve been a customer of Eggland’s for quite a while because I love the cage free and organic varieties and my husband loves the cooked and peeled hard boiled eggs. They manufacture what I like to call smart cups. The double wall insulation keeps the liquid inside hotter or colder than other cups while the outer wall that touches your hand stays at room temperature. I tested this with some ice water the other day, I left it to go shopping for 2 hours and when I got back the water was still chilled. Not ice cold but not room temp either.  And by the way, did I mention these tumblers have a lifetime guarantee?

My favorite is the coffee mug because as you know I drink a lot of coffee. This mug holds a ton and, thanks to that double walled insulation, keeps it warm for me. I love it. I also love the designs on the cups!

For my kids I also love that you can buy lids to fit the tumblers. All of the kids use them. The youngest needs a lid to prevent spills. They also come in handy when we are out playing basketball and a glass gets knocked over with the ball. No Mess!

And speaking of staying hydrated, Tervis has this giant 24 ounce tumbler, that you can get a handle for, and within 2 fill ups of that glass I have my 48 oz of water a day, and it stays cold which I love. I have been drinking a ton more water just from having this tumbler. Of course, it’s always filled with ice water because it’s just so hot here.
