I happen to have a little boy who is not yet four but also will be homeschooled this year for prep into Kindergarten for next year. When Mom Central asked for bloggers to try the Fellowes Saturn2 95 Laminator I jumped at the chance because I had so many ideas! First was the obvious.. flash cards! He knew all the pictures and letters right away, and he likes carrying them! I am going to paper punch a hole in them and put them on a key ring because they fall sometimes. Ok a lot, but Aiden loves it. I wanted [...]

My Very Own Fairytale Book Review & Giveaway

_DSC0118 copy

It’s not very often that one has a whole book written about them but when you are a kid, nothing is cooler than seeing YOUR NAME in a book, right? Recently my daughter turned nine and right before her birthday she received a Book from the I See Me company called My Very Own Fairytale Book. This is a hardcover book that is both full color and beautifully illustrated but also is written out to match the letters of your child’s name. For every letter of your child’s first and middle name, there is a page with a story attached [...]

It’s All In The Details – Sharpie Gel Highlighter Review

sharpies4

If there is one thing I buy a ton of in August its most definitely a supply of Sharpie’s and highlighters. This fall I have a new favorite to share with you and that is the new Sharpie GEL Highlighter! This highlighter is different because its made of a gel, and this gel won’t smudge or smear and the best part in my opinion, is that it won’t bleed through the page. I HATE that! They do look a little funny… I’ll admit I was skeptical I thought there was no way that it would work, it seemed so different [...]

Baby Einstein Discovery Kits In Stores Now

baby-einstein-logo

The people at Baby Einstein have come up with a new way to help you interact with your baby and try and teach them a few things while you are playing. I know personally I bought the Baby Einstein DVD’s when Aiden was a baby to occupy him while I folded laundry or something quick. He loved them. The new kits contain a DVD, CD, and cards, or a book, depending on the stage you are at. I attended a webinar last month and we were able to ask the makers of the product and the consulting Psychologist questions. There [...]

1590D_pink

If there is one thing kids need its a lock for lockers! In our case our kids’ schools have lockers with locks already built in. But in my case for college, we have to provide our own locks for the locker room. Master Lock, a trusted name in padlocks for many years, has quite a few different kinds of locks and among them is the brand new 1500iD Speed Dial lock. This lock moves in directions instead of the usual turn dial! Master Lock sent me a Speed Dial lock and a 1590D Resettable Precision Dial lock (in PINK! Yay!) [...]

Grow A Butterfly! – Insect Lore Butterfly Kit Review

bfly1

My daughter loves butterflies. Absolutely adores them. She had been begging for a couple months to get the butterflies from the commercial. I finally gave in and got in contact with them and the great people at Insect Lore were delighted to send us a kit. They sent a Butterfly habitat, 5 live caterpillars, instructions, a laminated posted showing the stages of development and a set of plastic figures in various stages of development. They shipped very fast too. They needed to be fast, its live insects after all. The first day there wasn’t a lot of movement from them, [...]

Juno Baby: Juno’s Rhythm Adventure DVD Review\

dvds_jra_lg

I don’t know about anyone else but my Aiden is a huge fan of music. ESPECIALLY rhythm. He comes from a very musical family, myself I did a fair bit of choir and Greg and Colton are major guitar players. Alyssa has a gorgeous vibrato at 6 years of age! So this kid was destined to like music in some capacity. We did watch a few Baby Einstein movies with him when he was younger but they just didn’t hold his interest. Juno Baby contacted me and asked me if I would watch their DVD, Juno’s Rhythm Adventure, with Aiden [...]

Restock School Supplies for the 2nd Semester

cpad

Coming from someone who just had to get books and school supplies again for college I can attest to the fact that most people will need to replenish school supplies during the 2nd half of school. My son is in the 6th grade and only needed pencils but I know I needed more. I needed more paper, pens, pencils and binders! Carolina Pad contacted me and asked me if I would like to be a part of their 2nd semester Back to School review and giveaway and I of course said yes. Since my first review I have continued to [...]

Ok so the birthday bash isn’t officially opening for another few days but this was important for me to share with you right away! So here I present the first giveaway of the bash! School is a lot harder than when I was a kid. My oldest son is now 12 and in the sixth grade. He’s only been in school this year for about a week but I can tell there is a lot more pressure this year than last year. He loves his teacher but I can read his face and its showing signs of doubt. For some [...]
