I am behind getting this one up but please forgive me! Ok so I really put both these printers through the paces in week 2. I had near 100 pages to print for college stuff and I also had to print some photos for showing off my kids to my old high school cheer squad when we got together last week. I actually printed around 25 photos on each computer and got the same results. I do know that when I used my memory card to print the photos it went a lot faster in each printer. HP color took first place again. The thing is, I am printing everything on default. If the default settings for printing photos on the HP are that good, I can only imagine what the Best settings would look like.
Ink levels: This week the photo black still says its low and then Cyan said it was low on the HP. On the Kodak the black level shows its kinda low on the frotn display but no warnings yet. Kodak also spit out a sheet that was missing about an inch of printed text. To be honest I am guessing one more big print with the Kodak and I will have to think about replacing the cartridge because the text is suffering. I prin out my study guides for mythology and they do contain images. It was painfully slow to print a full page graphic on the Kodak and a bit faster on the HP but not fast enough.
I am beginning to wonder if these printers work better with like brand items? I don’t have a kodak camera, I have a Nikon and since its a dSLR I don’t think a Kodak point and shoot would make it with me. I need the clarity and speed of a dSLR. I have never tested Kodak digital cameras though so I don’t know.
I am also not using an HP to connect to the HP printer. I have an old Compaq Presario F700 (out of production) and need to upgrade to something newer like yesterday. Its got to be powerful enought o handle photoshop and this printer.
Vedict? Week 2 winner is HP
Week 3, printing Christmas cards!!!
