Eureka! Tetragon 1610 Family Tent Review & Giveaway CLOSED

I have lived in the country all my life and growing up and even now as an adult there is no better fun in the summer than camping! I love it and always have. Eureka! Tents is a company I found while searching the internet and doing research on tents. We never had our own tent prior so I needed education. Eureka’s site was easy to navigate and thanks to easy to understand illustrations I could find out what kind of tent suited my family of 5. (Plus the inevitable friends and family that will visit for Colton’s birthday next month, hehe)

Eureka! sent me and my family the Tetragon 1610 Tent. This model sleeps 9. It measures 16 feet by 10 feet and it is 6’4″ in the center, and 5’4″ on the ends. If its space you are after this tent has it. Its pretty much the size of a camper!

EUREKA TETRAGON 1610 TENT FEATURES

  • 4 pole rectangular dome tent with 2 side rooms
  • Durable, freestanding, shockcorded fiberglass frame and ring and pin attachments
  • Main twin-track side opening door has protective overhead brim and zipper cover
  • Extra weather proof design features a bathtub floor that wraps up sides of tent, keeping seams high above the ground and water outside
  • Hanging gear loft and 2 interior storage pockets keep essential items handy
  • 4 vents enhance air circulation for added comfort

What came in the box was the usual items, steaks and strings, and the rods, all inside a handy carrying bag. The rods are the collapsible kind which is great for storage but if I had to put this up alone I would have went batty over them because they would com apart sometimes when threading them through the fabrics at the top. One thing I would highly suggest is not to skip the directions. I would actually spend a couple hours reading it. I would also suggest when you choose someone to help, that they be well fed and happy and not cranky :) You will want to make sure you have it completely unfolded and stretched. I had to redo the stakes on one end because the bottom wasn’t fanned out all the way. No biggie, just something you won’t want to rush through. After staking the poles you can easily attach the tent material to clips that clip right to the poles. Then after that you can continue putting in your stakes. Finally you put the weather shield on last. There are a lot of stakes with this tent but it is to keep that weather shield secure.

This particular tent had inserts to make 2 more rooms so it can be a 3 room tent. As soon as it was up my two older kids were fighting over who gets what “room”. Then my daughter Alyssa proceeded to get very jealous that Colton will be allowed to invite friends to camp with him the night of his birthday party. I think if she could my daughter would move out into the tent. We’re expecting rain over the weekend and I am glad because I know that the seams and construction of this tent are so well made that it won’t leak. It has what is called a bathtub bottom meaning they added extra fabric and it comes up the side to reinforce and protect against moisture. Start to finish, after I realized it was sideways and started over, it took about an hour to put up with the help of my nearly 13 year old and towards the end my Father-in-law helped put in the stakes for the weather shield. It would have been easier if I read the directions instead of guessing. I’d give it a 4 out of 5 for ease of use, it would be too hard to put up alone. My kids love this tent. They are very happy and love to play in it!
