Did you know that Valentine’s Day is one of the most popular days to propose marriage? There are so many different ways you can pop the question. A fancy dinner, on a cruise, on a vacation some place warm. This list goes on forever! When I got engaged it wasn’t fancy at all. My hubby, boyfriend at the time, had been engaged before and was burned bad by the whole romantic idea so he just kinda tossed a ring box at me and said, “So, you wanna?” . I still cried though and later made him propose on one knee. We just celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary a few days ago so its apparent that proper romance ettiquete plays no part in our happiness.
What was your proposal like? I think if I could choose how to get proposed to it would be with a HUGE ring and given to me in the middle of a Gondola boat ride in Venice, Italy. In reality I would have been extremely happy to have been proposed to at Disney World. I am a fun type person, I don’t conform to the uptight, perfect, snooty bride attitudes. Heck, the song we had our first dance to at our reception was from the band White Lion!
Whichever way your man (or woman) chooses to propose, just remember its not the engagement and wedding that matter, its the marriage and commitment that are most important
.

Don’t feel bad, my hubs totally did a “So ya wanna?” type proposal too. LOL I totally did a whole post on how “unromantic” he can be. LOL http://the-zookeeper-ramblings.blogspot.com/2010/01/meet-mr-romance.html
