Natural Products From All Terrain – Review

Having a family that has a lot of allergies and sensitivities I am always in search of natural and “green” products because the skin of the people in this house needs special care sometimes. All Terrain is a company that makes natural soaps, creams, and even bug spray that is not only free of harmful chemicals but also they make their products with cruelty free techniques. I love nature (except bugs) and I am doing more and more to help this planet and to me its important that I try to purchase items made as natural as possible. For my family’s safety, I want the things they use to be safe too.

All Terrain’s Company Mission:

All Terrain’s primary mission is to sell quality “Natural Remedies for Outdoor Enthusiasts.”  Environmentally conscious, All Terrain’s products have all natural ingredients and their packaging is made from recycled material, recyclable and/or biodegradable.  All Terrain strives in the long-term to operate in a “net zero consumption” manner (we have a long way to go on the front.)

An equally important mission is to increase awareness of environmental issues and to promote environmental conservation so that future generations can enjoy the same natural beauty we enjoy.  We circulate a newsletter, Tread Softy, which discusses environmental topics and suggests how one can optimize their outdoor experience while minimizing the impact.  All Terrain partners with like-minded retailers, its Environmental Partners, to increase awareness and education.

As part of our initiatives, we work closely with Environmental Groups, see the Environmental Page for more information.
In addition, All Terrain sponsors and supports selected environmentally oriented, outdoor events.  The goal in supporting these events is to increase consumer awareness of environmental issues and to promote active involvement in environmental protection.  All Terrain greatly appreciates your helping us accomplish our mission.  Please tread softly.

All Terrain sent me an assortment of products and asked for my opinion. I had every intention of taking photos of it all but the items all went into use right away! Here is what I got and here is what I thought:

Ditch the Itch Bar: We have 2 guys in the family that deal with eczema and all around very itchy skin. I put this bar in the shower and told them to give it a try. My son gets scaly patches when he has a break out from grass or other allergens. My husband just has all around itchy sensitive skin. My husband cannot use soap that leaves anything behind but he can’t use something that is drying either. The natural stuff in this soap seems to help him. My son says its cool, which at his age means it doesn’t hurt his skin. 2 Thumbs up on this one.

Grime Bar: This soap immediately went to my father-in-law tends to get his hands dirty when he is working outside so this soap is perfect for him. Its not as rough as the leading brand soap for cleaning oily dirty hands but he says he really likes the soap. He has been cleaning up his yard a lot and the soap has been doing a good job keeping his hands clean!

Herbal Armor Insect Repellent: This stuff smells just like Murphy’s Oil. Its DEET free which is important to me as I have young children and this particular spray is good as it is heavier if that makes sense. When you spray it goes straight to the area. I appreciate the natural stuff in this but in my particular area in Michigan we are being overtaken with mosqitoes and we found this spray didn’t work very well. I don’t want to have to use deet but we need something a bit stronger to keep the mosquitoes off us.

Kids Peppermint Wonder Wash: I had full intentions of testing this one on the kids but it was actually my mother-in-law who first used this and she gave it a GLOWING review. She said that she used it on her hair and it was really amazing. She has sensitivities and one of them is scents but she said this one was not overpowering. She has physical problems and rinsing all the suds from her hair is hard for her, but she said there wasn’t a bunch of suds with this stuff. She is actually ordering some for herself after trying some.

KidSport Sunscreen: Its hard for me to review sunscreen and not give it a positive review. I put some on the kids when they went to play in the kiddie pool last week and though it is waterproof and sweat proof, because of the way it works, you are supposed to reapply it after the amount of time it says on the bottle for SPF – This one is 30 so I had to reapply it after 1/2 hour but since they only played for an hour it lasted long enough. I am a huge stickler for sunscreen. I use it myself and force my kids as well. I do not tan and have very pale white skin and try to stay out of the sun because I burn. My biggest fear is skin cancer. I didn’t stay out of the sun when I was younger and I am hoping what I do now will help spare me from developing skin cancer now.

Buy it: You can buy any of the products above and lots more that I didn’t list at the All Terrain Site. Prices vary but are very reasonable for naturally made goodies.
