Monkey Business Sports – Review

As you know I have 3 kids. The older two of which are 12 and 6. They live in an electronic age for sure. Sometimes I just want to shove my size 9′s on their behinds and kick them OUTSIDE to PLAY. Yes, that means stop playing that dang video game and get some fresh air. Geesh, my parents would never let me stay inside if it was above 60 degrees out.

So anyway I am always on the hunt for some great outdoor toys for them. I spent a great deal of this summer looking for stuff that both my kids could play with (since they are 6 years apart). Monkey Business Sports contacted me and asked me if I wanted to try a couple of their toys out. I said sure!

Ok so here’s how it went down. Alyssa and Colton took the two smaller rockets and played with those firs tbecause we had to get the big rockets out of the box. All the rockets come with a launcher that has a strong rubber band (well its not flat like a rubber band its circular) and you can stretch it far. That is if you aren’t six years old. Alyssa couldn’t quite pull it back hard enough to get it to really go but she did fine. Colton however had it launching over 20 foot trees with ease. They work great.

(Meanwhile, Greg has taken the Spiderball out to play and let the baby have it. Baby lick it and moves on. I lay claim to the ball. Its the ugliest thing ever but I am intrigued. I put it on my desk as inspiration.)

Ok so now we are all ready to try the big rockets with the parachutes! I follow the directions about winding the chute and everything and give it a go myself. It makes a very beautiful arc in the air but the parachute didn’t deploy. I spent the next 2 hours going over the directions and trying over and over again and still never got it to work. Colton doesn’t care though he just likes to launch them anyway. I do hope I can get the chutes to work though because I think it looks neat! Oh and best of all it got us ALL outside to play. Alyssa just played with the small rockets while we tried the larger ones because she couldn’t pull back the larger launcher band at all the little shrimp. Maybe in a few years.
