Figure It Out! TI-Nspire Calculator Review

By on August 19, 2010 Leave a Comment

Anyone that has been reading this blog knows that I am in college but also knows I have a hate-hate relationship with Math. Not only do I need math for my profession but I also need quite a bit of help LEARNING it. I had the opportunity to review the new TI-Nspire with touchpad calculator by Texas Instruments, a brand known for many years as the industry leader for calculators. Now my college math class starts in a week so I haven’t had a chance to use it in an actual class setting yet but I did have a chance to play around. It was a little foreign at first but then I realized with the TI-Nspire I can do more with actual words. I can make memos and lists. And this model can hook up to the computer so you can finish your calculations on your computer just by using the included cable and software. I think the real beauty of this particular calculator though is the fact the key plates are removable, which means this super smart calculator and be changed into a TI-84 interface.

Why is this important? For me, I have to take math tests and in order to use a calculator  it has a to be a TI-84. Not only because its standard but also because in my Algebra class, they teach using a graphing calculator so I have to have it. This beauty replaces my regular TI-84. I don’t have to take 2 calculators and I can just pack the other plate and switch as needed. I don’t think I will ever need another calculator!

Buy It: You can by the TI-Nspire at retailers nationwide using the store locator or on Amazon!

Network: You can find Texas Instruments Calculators on Facebook and Twitter for updates, sales and more!
