Carson Zorb USB Microscope Review & Giveaway CLOSED

zOrb Digital Microscopes - 3 colors

This little egg shaped piece of awesomeness from Carson Optical is something you may want to get two of because it was such a hit with my two kids that they were fighting over it. Technically I used it first and was COMPLETELY blown away by what it can do! Its a microscope that hooks up to your computer via USB ! And if that’s not cool enough you can take PHOTOS of what you find and VIDEO too! And to change the focus you just twist the body until you get the desired focus. Neat!

I took some photos to show you the awesomeness. The first is a dead Hornet. We had quite the battle against these menaces this past summer!
bee headbee stinger

And then random stuff-

A piece of the outer shell on popcorn (the piece that gets in your teeth):
shell

A stuffed animal’s eye:
lepeye

My eyelashes! :
lashes

There is a button right on the tip of  it that you press and voila, it take a shot for you. Remember to save it though because if you don’t and you take another picture it will erase the first one. For video, you just click start capture and you can record! No sound of course but its cool. I recorded a small piece of ice melting on my laptop (turned off and closed of course) and it was neat. You could see the bubbles popping!

You can see so many cool things with this, even gross things like scars and dirty fingernails. And the quality is very good too because of the lights. We spent a good 2 hours looking all over the house for cool things to look at microscopically. I think the grossest was a pimple and the neatest was bee so far. I would definitely put this on the boy or girl list for Christmas and for sure put it on the homeschoolers list for science!

Buy It : The Zorb MM 480 retails for $39.95 and you can get it at Wal-Mart or any of these retailers:

Win It!! Carson Opticals is giving away Zorb MM-480 Microscope in Safari Green to one of my lucky readers!

This contest is over, the winner is comment #221,  Shelia!
