At one time this family owned FOUR Nintendo DS Lites. We loved them so much we each had one. Over time through use and negligence and necessity we had to get rid of them and didn’t have handheld games for a while. Then my son bought himself a Sony PSP. Alyssa isn’t allowed to touch it though. Thankfully for her, there was something in her future. VTech sent us a V.Smile Cyber Pocket for review:

Firstly you’ll need 4 AA batteries! It comes with a game called Zayzoo: An earth Adventure

Super cute game that caught my attention because there is a spelling game in it and I love spelling games. Alyssa is forever asking how to spell words so this may help her! What I love about this system is the cost of the games are under ten dollars! And since its VTech I am confident my child will be learning something while she is playing. It fits her hands well but its kind of bulky compared to the DS. The touchpad area isn’t as sensitive either but it didn’t seem to bother Alyssa

Now you won’t use the touchpad for everything so it’s not the main selling point to me for the system but its still fun. You can also plug in headphones too. I would suggest rechargeable batteries made for electronics. I think I would try and save this one for Aiden when he is older but Alyssa likes it a lot and she has already requested a few more games. This one is perfect for traveling too!
Pros: Game prices are cheap, durable and solid, good for small hands, educational
Cons: touchpad sensitivity, resolution is kind of low, no screen protectors
Buy It: The V.Smile Cyber Pocket retails fro around $45 and you can get the V.Smile Cyber Pocket at online retailers like Amazon – Vtech – V.Smile Cyber Pocket
I was given a V.Smile Cyber Pocket by VTech for my review. I was allowed to keep the product, but the opinion I am sharing remains my own.

Thanks so much for reviewing this. We’ve been looking to get our daughter something to play with in the car so she’ll stay off my iPhone. The DS is just a bit too complicated for her but this might be just what we’ve been looking for.
