In December, my family had the pleasure of being invited to spend the weekend at the Kalahari Resort in Sandusky, OH. This place is not just any resort, Kalahari boasts the largest indoor water park in the United States! Before I talk about that, I want to tell you why we were there and why families rule! As we were invited as a family, other bloggers joined us and in the sister resort at the Wisconsin Dells, other bloggers were invited to partake in the same fun as us bloggers in Sandusky!

We were invited, my ENTIRE family to go on a “Kamp” out, with 5 other bloggers and their families. I was very lucky because I knew most of the other bloggers from previous brand trips. I had the pleasure of spending the weekend with

Tesa Nicolanti – 2 Wired 2 Tired
Mary Davis – Everyday Baby Steps
Cindy Orley – Akron Ohio Moms
Emily Berry – Mommin’ It Up
Jenny Rapson – Mommin’ It Up

We were given a beautiful 2 Bedroom 2 Bath Suite with private balcony, full kitchen, and even a fireplace. I mean this place was BEAUTIFUL! I wish I had known the fully equipped kitchen would have been ours for the weekend, I would have brought groceries :D Still this room was so perfect, plenty of outlets to charge our stuff. And the most wonderful welcome basket :)

The first night was free time so I took the kids to the water park and we stayed there until they closed! My little guy was hesitant but loved laying in the wave pool on my lap in the shallow end. the wave pool is enormous, 12,000 square feet! And its covered by the Texlon transparent roof that lets the sun light in but leaves out the elements, meaning you can swim in warm water in the middle of winter!

There was so much to see, water slides everywhere! Me and my daughter rode a slide then we headed back to the room, we had to get bed since we were due up early the next morning!

The next morning we started bright and early with a delicious breakfast at .. We had delicious bananas foster, pancakes, eggs, bacon, it was delicious and I ate tons! During this meal the people in charge came to talk to us and give us some history on how Kalahari came to be and the family, that believes in family, made Kalahari what it is today. I found it super sweet that they really go out of the way for the kids, you don’t see that much at resorts in the north!

Next we had time to change clothes and get ready for water park fun! We were escorted to a private Cabana where we got personal use of the Flow Rider surfing ride. The kids in our group loved it but none more than my son! He was a natural! He did tricks and everything.

The Flow Rider is amazing, it has over 50,000 gallons of water flowing upward each minute to create a 5 foot ocean-like wave for you to body board or, if you want even more, flow board, which is like surfing!

We had lunch soon after, and it was delicious, and though it was a portable lunch it had so much food! After lunch we headed back to the room to chill for a minute before it was time for some arcade fun!

……………….hate to leave you hanging for part two but its a doozy. And you will want to read it because I AM GIVING AWAY A 1 NIGHT STAY AT KALAHARI SANDUSKY!

*I have to give my hubby photo credits for all but 2 photos above were taken by him! :)
