Self Storage Tips To Make Your Life Easy

January 4, 2021 by Mandy

Maybe you are running out of space at your home, or you are in the middle of a relocation, and your new home is not quite ready at the moment. In such cases, self-storage may be the answer to all your storage problems. Self-storage provides homeowners with the flexibility to store the items they are not using temporarily on a long or short-term basis. For example, you can utilize self-storage to put away seasonal items, such as winter clothing. When winter comes around, you can go to your storage unit, unlock it, take them out for use, and put them back when winter is over. The same can be done with other household items that you don’t use regularly.

However, with all things in life, you will always face some issues when you do something for the first time. The same is the case with self-storage. There are a few things that you need to consider before choosing a facility that is ideal for your needs. We’ve highlighted a few important ones below.

Pick the right size

The primary reason for self-storage being such a flexible option is that they are available in various sizes. You can find storage units two square meters in area, ideal for a few small items. Or you can go all out and rent a unit 38 square meters in size, which will be perfect for bulky furniture and even vehicles such as cars and bikes.  So, go ahead and look at multiple storage units to find which size will fulfill your storage needs. If you are unsure regarding the amount of storage space you require, you can always take measurements and work your way from there.

Make a list of belongings you want to put away

Take out all the belongings you wish to put away and create an inventory list. A hand-written list on a piece of paper will suffice so long as you keep it safe and readily accessible. Once you store items and decide to add more to the storage unit, update your inventory list. Make sure that you have a few copies of the inventory list lying around. If you lose one, you will always have another copy. Also, do not forget to update the copied inventory list as well to avoid discrepancies!

Choose a storage unit that is always accessible to you

When you decide to keep your precious belongings away from you, it is of the utmost importance that you rent a storage unit near your home. When you are close to the storage unit, you can easily monitor it and access it without having to travel miles away.

In the end, it is all about assessing your requirements and knowing how frequently you will need access to it. If you plan to store away items and not access them any time soon, the location may not matter. But if you need to keep important work documents or office-related equipment that you regularly need, rent one near your workplace.

Don’t forget about purchasing insurance

Before visiting an insurance company, check if the storage facility you choose provides coverage for items stored. If it does not, you can always ask the storage space owner or your insurance company to provide you with an individual insurance plan. Having an insurance plan will give you the peace of mind that all your stored items have coverage, and you will receive compensation if anything gets damaged.

Purchase an unbreakable lock, and don’t share your key with anyone

It is your responsibility to be smart by taking the necessary steps to secure your storage unit. While an insurance plan is always the best for protecting your items, there is no insurance coverage for things such as jewelry, cash, or business documents. Some storage unit owners also ask you to sign a disclaimer that they won’t be responsible for any theft of items from it.

To avoid such issues, purchase an unbreakable lock and keep the keys to yourself. You might say there is not anything as an unbreakable lock. However, there are a variety of locks available on the market that are thief-proof. You can also go one step further and purchase a biometric lock. That way, only you can access the storage unit.

Conclusion

It is always a wise decision to rent a storage unit located near you so you can rest assured that your belongings will remain protected at all times. Other than that, following these self-storage tips will give you a head start and ensure that your belongings stay secure and accessible all the time.

How Custom Flash Drives Can Build Brand Awareness

September 30, 2020 by Mandy

It may come as a surprise to you, but probably not, that brand awareness is a huge deal in the business world. The Big Name companies of the world spend a great deal of money on advertising, sponsorships, and endorsements to become household names. The amount of money that they spend on advertising usually leads to a great return on investment for them.

These Big Name companies get to revel in name recognition, premium price points, consumer loyalty, higher perceived value, and repeat customers. Traditionally speaking a brand is something that you cannot lose. If your business is destroyed in a fire you will still have your brand and will be able to rebuild because of it. So, what is the most cost-effective way to build your brand?

Promotional Products

Promotional products are one of the best ways to build your brand, they provide repeated exposure to your brand, cost less than advertising, engage the customer, and are usually appreciated by the consumer (everyone loves free stuff). Keep in mind though that not all promotional products are created equal. In order for a promotional product to be effective it has to have perceived value, be useful, and functional.

An important note though, a cheap promotional product can do more harm to your brand than good, so do not hesitate to spend a few extra dollars.

Why use a Custom USB Flash Drive as a promotional product.

Customized USB flash drives are a powerful promotional product. They can be imprinted with your company’s logo or business message and with manufacturing today can come in various form factors that are very stylish. There are so many variations of USB flash drives today, USB keys, bottle openers, credit cards, pens, and standard USB drives.

Despite a USB flash drives small size, they are able to hold a lot of information. The latest ones can off up to 256 GB of storage, although these are more expensive. People today still use USB Flash Drives to share and transfer videos, music, pictures, and much more today. They are a securer way of sharing information without trusting that information to a server.

Every single time your USB get used it will be handled by a customer, or potential customer. It will be passed around and used in many different places and location by many different people. You paid for one USB flash drive (probably a bulk order), but each and every time those flash drives get used you get advertising and the customer will think of you.

Try a USB flash drive as a promotional product

Purchasining custom USB flash drives is not as expensive as it once was. It is actually rather simple to do today and provides great brand recognition. Considering that people still use them today and their low cost they are a great way to get your brand image out there and gain some good recognition.

The following is a list of 12  things you can do to maximize your living space and the enjoyment thereof. To organize your personal inventory and store it more efficiently, here are 12 simple things you can do.

Organize Your Living Space for efficiency

  1. First things first. Pare down. Get rid of unwanted clothing and household items. Clean out storage areas and closets. Donate usable items to local charities or have a garage sale.
  1. Put unused areas to use. Your winter wear can be packed into a trunk and stored under the stairs. The trunk’s top can double as a small work area.
  1. Loft your bed. Put a desk underneath it and create a workspace.
  1. Build extra shelf or rack space wherever it fits.

Closets

Frequently, the closets are the least organized and messiest sections in the living unit. Organize your closets by doing the following:

  1. Add a second hanging rod below the upper existing one. Use it to hang smaller garments like shorts and singlets.
  2. Organize shoes with a simple rack made from two spring loaded rods positioned wall-to- wall, a higher one in the back for the heels and a lower one forward for the toes.
  3. Utilize chain hung from hangers on closet rods to create extra hanging space. Pop top pull tabs hung on a hanger create a second hanging space as well.
  4. Build a shelf on the inside of the closet door. There is usually enough space between it and your hanging garments to do so and it is very convenient.

Storage
